Acadia Center
Acadia Center was founded in 1998; it is one of the first non-profit organizations to focus on climate change solutions at the state and regional levels. We are at the forefront of efforts to build low-carbon and consumer-friendly clean energy economies in the Northeast. Our work is primarily based in New England but has application in the northeast (NY and NJ), Canada and nationally. We receive donations and grants from people and foundations across the country and keep in mind that our marketing needs to be framed so that people outside of our core states (ME, MA, CT, RI) see value and interest in our work.
We work to partner with voices that are not always heard or, seeking common ground for a clean, healthy, affordable future for all to thrive. Working with government, industry, consumer, labor, public health and environmental justice advocates and communities, and grounded in impactful data and inclusive partnerships, our staff of policy experts, lawyers, and data analysts fight for economic and environmental policies to develops cutting edge solutions to shift our energy, housing and transit systems in ways that put people front and center.
